Effluent Road Tanker Emergency Leak Repair

PROBLEM

A crack had propagated in the main shell of this road tanker, which made the vehicle inoperable.

These vehicles need to be able to pull a vacuum on the tank to be able to be emptied, and the leak was preventing this.

A repair was needed that could accommodate the live leak, with minimal preparation, and quickly.

RU Coated responded rapidly to the call for assistance and completed the repair insitu, whilst also training the clients maintenance engineers.

Despite difficult access and limited preparation, we were able to use Belzona materials and “cold weld” techniques to affect a repair.

The repairs were completed within one hour by RU Coated, and the tanker was returned to service 2 hours later.

This “temporary” repair was still working perfectly when reviewed in 2025, over four years later.
