Temperatures Reduced on Metal Roof

PROBLEM

Complex sectional metal roof was leaking in many locations into the NHS Hospital Instrument Stores.

In summer, the rooms beneath would also become unbearably hot, despite the best efforts of the AC units.

In addition, the areas around the building could not be cordoned off and so the proximity of the constant pedestrian traffic prohibited the use of conventional roofing materials and working methods.

SOLUTION

RU Coated specified a water-based roofing system from Belzona that could be liquid applied onto a manually prepared surface. Onsite support was provided to the contractor throughout the application, and our final coating inspections validated the work once completed.

The contractor and client were delighted with the “Wrap-Around” support provided. In addition to stopping the leaks, the lighter colour chosen significantly increased solar reflection, which resulted in a much cooler working space below.
